We’re currently overflowing with motorcycle service and restoration work, and it’s only proper that we stop and say thank you. We’re utterly swamped and we’ve been bumping up against the proverbial rev limiter on how many motorcycles we can even take in and queue up for service in the coming weeks.
FYI, we are closed tomorrow, July 4th. We’ll be out celebrating our country’s founding paperwork. Go for a ride. Have some BBQ. Add to the rockets’ red glare. Then come back see us on Thursday, July 5th, when we reopen.
A couple weeks ago we shut our doors for a few days and got the hell out of town. It was a forced escape — a strategic retreat. Truth is, we needed it. We needed to give a little ground and take a fresh look at why we do what we do. Our vantage point for surveying the battle against time and neglect was the AMHRA vintage motorcycle races at Road America. We pitched our tent on a grassy overlook in Wisconsin to watch an angry mob of mad racers battle wheel to wheel on motorcycles older than some of our crew. From this perspective we could see the “why” of it all.
Maybe it’s the jet lag (I’m in Austria at the moment). Maybe it’s the pace of things for me right now, but as I think about what to post today there’s only one thing that really seems to matter. After a year of regular weekly posts, I’m going to be stepping away from the sweetest gig I’ve ever had: writing the blog here at BlueCatMotors.com. It’s a sad thing for me. Life is taking me to Chicago in a couple weeks, and while I’ll still occasionally post here from time to time, the regular task of keeping the world up to date on the week-to-week here at BCM will have to fall to someone else’s capable hands.
Hey fellow holiday gluttons, here’s the deal on shop hours for the Thanksgiving holiday:
We are closing today, Wednesday, November 23, at 5:00 pm and reopening Tuesday, November 29 at 10:00 am. Have a great holiday while we count our own blessings, thankful for the motorcycle community around us.
